In 2020-2021 NQWLS provided over 15,000 services to women living in rural, regional and remote Queensland. An increase of 25% from the previous year.
These services included 5366 legal advices, tasks & ongoing casework files and 2052 duty lawyer services for women who almost certainly would have been otherwise unable to afford legal assistance.
100% of the women we assisted were affected by domestic violence. Despite our best efforts, the demand for our Service in the community is ever increasing and many vulnerable women are still unable to get the assistance they desperately need due to a lack of resources.
